The Practice Studio

A guided session of careful noticing you can do on yourself — the seed of the skill every practitioner trains first.

What this is, plainly: an exercise in attention, drawn from the first assessment skill of Esogetic training — noticing differences in sensitivity at the finger zones. It is not a treatment, not a diagnosis, and it makes no claim about your health. If something concerns you about your body, see a medical professional.

Settle

Find a quiet place and ten unhurried minutes. Sit comfortably, both feet on the floor. Take three slow breaths, a little longer out than in. This session is about noticing, and noticing needs quiet.

What you need

Your two hands, and one simple probe: the rounded cap of a pen, the blunt end of a chopstick, or a small glass rod if you have one. Nothing sharp — the tip should be smooth, about the width of a pencil eraser.

Practitioners use a purpose-made instrument; for this first session, a pen cap is honestly enough.

Look at the map

Rest one hand palm-up. Look at the fingertips: in the classical map, six meridians begin or end there — a different line for each finger. You met this map on the front page explorer; keep it loosely in mind, but this exercise is about what you feel, not what you know.

Probe, gently

With your probe, press gently around the tip and sides of each finger, one finger at a time — light, even pressure, a second or two per spot, the same pressure everywhere. Work slowly: thumb, index, middle, ring, little. Then the other hand.

Gentle means gentle — you are listening, not pressing a doorbell.

Notice

Somewhere along the way, one or two spots probably felt different — brighter, duller, more tender, oddly distinct. That difference is the whole observation. There is nothing to fix and nothing to conclude: today you are only learning that the differences are there, and that you can feel them.

Record

Write down what you found, simply: which finger, which hand, what it felt like. Date it. If you repeat this session in a week, compare — the noticing sharpens quickly with repetition, and a dated note is how you will see that happen.

Where this goes

What you just did is the untrained seed of finger testing — one of the assessment skills at the start of Esogetic training, where these felt differences are read systematically and connected to the choice of treatment. Interpreting them is the trained part, and it is taught, not guessed.
